General

The Honor Guard is a unit of Ceremonial Guards who are called upon for official occasions. Members of the Honor Guard are at all times, expected to exemplify the ideals and examples of UF Starfleet and maintain the highest levels of integrity, honesty and respect.

Responsibilities

To join the Guard, you must:

• have the recommendation of your Commanding Officer or a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff;

• must complete an Academy Continuing Education (ACE) Associates Degree for Honor Guard;

• apply to the Commander UF Starfleet Honor Guard.

• have minimum rank of Lieutenant/Marine Captain or Crewman 1st Class/Corporal

If you are successful you will be invited to meet with the Commander, be added to the in-world group, and obtain your Honor Guard uniform. You will then need to pass an inspection before being cleared to attend ceremonies.

To maintain membership in the Guard you must:

• participate in at least one event every four months,

• maintain good standing in the membership,

• maintain contact with the unit, advising the Commander if you will be LOA for an extended period,

• adhere to UFS Uniform policy at all times,

• conduct yourself with respect, tolerance and discretion.

Good standing for the Guard means not engaging in activities that would be considered dishonest or unbecoming of a UF Starfleet officer.
