  |bio            = Born on Earth in 2363 in the old United States, to his parents who are civilian scientists working with Starfleet.  Having spent a lot of his childhood as a amazed kit on may starships and starbases developed a love for engineering. Joined Starfleet Academy and discovered that even though he loved engineering he had an impressive skill in management and operations so switched majors on the advice of his instructors. Although always stationed at Headquarters holds onto his dream to one day to serve on a starship perhaps as a Chief Engineer.
Joined Starfleet to achieve his dream of becoming a Chief Engineer of a starship, but discovered an amazing talent for management and operations. Graduated into Operations as a Support Services Officer stationed at Headquarters. After working as the Academy as an Assistant Dean he discovered a love for teaching and transferred in to become a full time Professor. After working with the various Divisions became Vice Commandant when Commander Morane stood down to pursue other goals.

While as Vice Commandant of the Academy he oversaw the redesign of the Cadet Corp and its procedures. Following Commodore Drebin's departure Miles was made Commandant of the Academy and begun some reforms to old procedures. Transferred to the Marine Corp at the behest of his friend Tarl Karu to take up the overhaul of the badly antiquated Training and Doctrine Command. Miles was offered Deputy Commandant by Vice Admiral Laxness to begin bringing the dead Marine Corp back to life. Miles was made Commandant by Fleet Admiral Calhoun to finish the massive reforms to the Corp and bring it back online. After many months of struggle and work, he is beginning to succeed in his task.
