Biography
Siobhan Crystal was born on Orion , the product of a Human male and Orion female. Her father, Martin Crystal was born in Dublin, Eire on Earth. An Irishman he was known for a wry, cynical sense of humor and his bright red hair, which encouraged many of his friends to call him "Ginge," or "Ginger." Even his mother, a brunette, called him "Ginny" for short.

Martin was representing Berengaria VII at a trade conference on the planet Deneva when he met whom he assumed was an Orion slave girl, named Neeata, as a gift during the conference. In reality, Neeata was an influential member of the Orion Syndicate who largely used her gifts to extract information from unsuspecting "marks" and then feeding that to her subordinates who acted on her directions. Two things occurred to unhinge her plans. One was that she was being closely monitored for any unspoken communication when in the same room as her subordinates. It was discovered that coded messages were being relayed by such acts as timed fluttering of her eyelashes along with non-suspicious movements of hands and body positions. The other was that she truly liked the jovial Irishman and had fallen for him.

Neeata realized she had been discovered before being confronted and spoke to Martin about the situation. She offered to leave the negotiations, but to her surprise he asked that she continue, but without any more subterfuge. Martina and Neeata later married and on 901112, their only child, Siobhan, named after a paternal grandparent, was born. While Siobhan possessed the green skin of her Orion heritage, she was born with auburn tresses instead of her mother's raven- colored.

Red hair being uncommon on Orion, Siobhan was often teased and ridiculed. She combatted this by attempting t excel in everything she attempted. Following her parents on her father's many trade transactions and being tutored and trained by many of the finest instructors in Federation space and on Orion, Siobhan excelled in music and performance art, athletics and languages. She is proficient in Kolari (Orion), High Kolari, Federation Standard English, Vulcan, Betazoid, Romulan, Klingon, and Ferengi.

Her humor has always been her defense. Sometimes caustic, according to some rarely funny, and more given to puns and word games, one might think that she would have had little need for such a defense, but humor helped her survive the put-downs she received throughout her life based upon her physical appearance and mixed heritage. When alone, she kept to herself and comforted herself with stories of myth and legend. Since long had a fascination with research and investigation, she spent many hours in the library, often eschewing the digital for the antique. She loved to read the books, and actually turn the pages of the antique and ancient volumes that were preserved.

Her proudest moment, though was being accepted to Starfleet Academy, where she would work to be strike down long-held stereo-types about Orions.
