| Born at Ravent General Hospital in the city of Ravent on Mantilles, the inhabited second planet in the Pallas 14 system was located at the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy. Her father is a scientist for the Federation Agriculture Colony Administration working on developing sustainable food supplies in moderate harsh climates. Her mother is a nurse at Robert Wesley Memorial Hospital in the ICU Ward. Both her parents are human, from Earth. Her father is Scandinavian and her mother Asian. Shelby grew taking care of her younger sister who suffered from Clarke's Syndrome, a progressive, degenerative disorder of the Human brain that is incurable. This profoundly impacted her. She also was a bit of a tomboy and could often be found tagging along in her father's hobby with internal combustion engines. After her little sister passed, Shelby became more reclusive and socially distant, fascinated by her mothers work with ICU patients and incurable diseases. This profoundly impacted her. After some basic physical therapy courses, Shelby took a position as a masseuse on Risa working at Suraya Bay, known for having villas built right into the cliffs. This helps restore her confidence and forced her to be more social. After a year she applied to Starfleet where she felt she could receive a formal medical training and perhaps fulfill her quest to find a cure for Clarke's Syndrome. | |||||
