Biography
I have always loved the stars. When I was a little girl I would spend hours and hours gazing up at them from my firsthome, on Epsilon Indi 8. My father was posted there, the Vulcanian ambassador to Epsilon Indi 8 at the time of my birth. My mother was a biologist, and helped form my early interest in science of all kinds. I was intrigued by the amazing life forms on Epsilon Indi, which my mother always enjoyed showing me and explaining all aspects of the Indiian ecosystem. Still, my true passion remained with astrophysics. I will never forget when other

took me to the observatory and had them direct the telescope towards 40 Eridani, Vulcan's star. So that's where we all came from .... so briliant, so beautiful, yet so far. I became determined to someday go there ... and to Rigel, Vega, earth, and dozens of others.

I lost my mother to a tragic accident on Indi when I was only 12 terran years old. For months afterwards when I would go look at the stars I would think of her. My father would tell me that her spirit surely lives on .... somewhere, in our vast universe. So for months I would look up at the night sky and wonder ... and wonder.

Eventually father decided it was time to move on, so he arranged to get a diplomatic post on Epsilon Eridani. Epsilon was nice, though I did miss our life on Indi. My father is only half vulcan ... the other half, human. I realized that part of the motivation for him getting the assignment on Epsilon was to get nearer to earth, so I could be closer to my fraternal grandparents.

I loved my grandparents very, very much, especially my grandmother. It was she who gave me my human side, and a truly high point of my young life was the year I spent with her and my grandfather on Mars (with several trips to Earth folded in). My experience on Mars was good ... like most of my upbringing, I was in mixed schools, with students of many races. My parents felt that it was only logical that I be raised in a multiracial environment, to better understand the nature of civilizations that would be most helpful in either a diplomatic or scientific career.

As I came to complete my secondary studies on Mars it became time to embark on my scientific career. It was only logical to apply to the Vulcan Academy of Sciences, but in spite of the best efforts of my father and the influence of other relatives, I was not accepted. Father suggested I consider StarFleet instead, pointing out the advantages that would hold for a person with a multi-racial background like myself, and also the fact that I was already quite used to the adventure of spaceflight. I did not require convincing. I applied to StarFleet and was accepted without difficulty. I am finding the StarFleet experience to be truly fascinating.
