Biography
Gunnar is fourth generation Starfleet. His father Magnus: a hard-core follower of the Asatru faith, met Gunnar’s mother T’Pali; a Vulcan of the V'tosh ka'tur sect during their first year at Starfleet Academy. Magnus viewed T’Pali as Elf maiden out of the old Norse legends and fell in love with her on sight. By the time they graduated they had married, and while on shore leave at Magnus’s ancestral home in Stavanger, T’Pali gave birth to Gunnar. Gunnar spent his entire childhood growing up on starships, moving from assignment to assignment with his parents. Magnus was in Security and T’Pali an Engineer. Magnus raised Gunnar in the old Norse ways as a warrior. Gunnar was holding a Seax almost before he could walk and was training with Sword, Battle Axe, and Shield by the time he was the age of ten. However, Gunnar also showed an amazing aptitude for healing and decided very early on of pursuing a career in Medicine. He graduated High School, was accepted into Starfleet Academy, then moved onto Starfleet Medical to become a Doctor.Gunnar was raised and trained in both the Asatru faith and V'tosh ka'tur beliefs, to love life and embrace his emotions. He still however did receive some Vulcan training in the ways of logic and on occasion, as a way to mess with people, will act decidedly “Vulcan”. Gunnar has three sisters and two brothers, all younger than him. He stays in close contact with all his family.
