Biography
Gunnar is fourth generation Starfleet. His father Magnus met Gunnar’s mother NIami during their first year at Starfleet Academy. Magnus fell in love with Niami at first sight. By the time they graduated the Academy they had married, and while on shore leave at Magnus’s ancestral home in Stavanger, Niami gave birth to Gunnar. Gunnar spent his entire childhood growing up on starships, moving from assignment to assignment with his parents. Magnus was in Security and Niami an Engineer. Magnus raised Gunnar in the old Norse ways as a warrior. Gunnar was holding a Seax almost before he could walk and was training with Sword, Battle Axe, and Shield by the time he was the age of ten. However, Gunnar also showed an amazing aptitude for healing and decided very early on of pursuing a career in Medicine. He graduated High School, was accepted into Starfleet Academy, then moved onto Starfleet Medical to become a Doctor. Gunnar was raised and trained in the Asatru faith. Gunnar has three sisters and two brothers, all younger than him. He stays in close contact with all his family.
