| Ginrai Leo Yamabushi was born on Earth in Groton, Connecticut at the historical Submarine Base NLON (still part of Starfleet as a spaceport) Hospital. His mother Thenia Yamabushi, an El-Aurian was married to Starfleet Engineering Officer Lieutenant Commander Thomas Hoshi Yamabushi. Ginrai's father was a hard worker, who taught some skills to his attentively listening son, instilling human creativity, coupling with unpredictability to go along with Ginrai's quiet demeanor, coming from a race of listeners. They poured all their love into him, as Ginrai's father was adopted by a Japanese family from the United States of Africa, with a semi-sense of duty.
Things would change by his tenth birthday when his father died in an experimental explosion that was considered classified by Starfleet to this day, Ginrai saw a change in his mother, which would drive a division between him and his mother, he discovered that his mother, while at the age of 340 years old, had the appearance of someone in her 40 Human Years old. He also had learned that because of a rare condition that El-Aurians like her had, he was the only living child that she had, and more importantly at his funeral, she did not weep for him. Thenia would go on to have another husband, a Klingon named Tolq, which taught his stepson not only Klingon Engineering but also Klingon combat. He trained his stepson, just as he would his Klingon son Martus, who became a true brother to Ginrai. Martus and Ginrai who were close in age were known for getting into fights in their teenage years. Grades in school were secondary, as they were known for the two who would fight for honor in the streets. During this time, he fell with the Klingons of the city and because he was the stepson of a Klingon Lower House member, he followed Klingon Culture and fought with honor with his brother. Eventually, the law would catch up, and many times he was left in jail with his brother, Martus, or as he privately loved to be called: ""Marty"". During their time in the Youth Center, Ginrai and Martus would learn skills and focus their studies. Ginrai returned to the path of his biological father, an engineer, learning about some of the greatest officers in Starfleet History. Martus would go own to learn about Klingon Culture, and what it would be like to serve the Empire. Once they left the Center, the Judge ordered them both, as children who made bad choices to apply their energies to something that made them great. Ginrai and Martus would go back to school, and while involving themselves in fights in the science hall, or for Martus in the political arenas, they would graduate from High School, and go on to work on several colonies. Ginrai, as an Engineer's Assistant, and Martus, the assistant of his father, learning both Klingon Military Decorum, and the politics of the council, Martus would go on to enlist in the Klingon Defense Force. Thenia, during that time in their cold communications would urge Ginrai to enlist in Starfleet, following the path his father did. By his thirtieth birthday, as an accomplished tinkerer, as he called it, tragedy struck in twofold: Thenia would die of a rare biological cancer that effects El-Aurians, later that year, when his brother came to Earth to visit, he was attacked by a group in San Francisco by a group that smeared his blood against the wall in the shape of a humanoid hand, with a sword with a globe run through it. After their traditional funerals, Ginrai would submit his application to Starfleet in honor of his brother and his mother. | |||||
