Biography | |||||
T’Shael has been born to T’sati (mother) and V’La (father) on the planet Vulcan in the year 2.382 earth standard as their only daughter. Both parents, filled with pride, take good care of her young life and educated T’Shael to the best of their knowledge and belief according to the old Vulcan principles. Even at a young age, the young girl proved to be inquisitive, obedient while being in a pristine health and was taught by her mother in the ancient martial art of "Suss Mahna", while her father returned to the scientific institute to teach there in T’Shael’s early years.
For this reason, the young child rarely saw her father, but got used to the distance in the course of the first few years and found sufficient occupation in old notes, textbooks and physical training, which her mother also appreciated. At the age of seven, the young Vulcan had to face the kahs-wan ritual, which is a kind of survival training for Vulcan adolescents, and was sent to the volcanic desert for ten days without food, drink or weapons. This test is designed to test both the mind and body of Vulcans, and challenge the knowledge they have learned in order to survive. Although T’Shael found this ritual incredibly difficult and deadly at this point of her life, she should be taught otherwise over the next few years. Even though she passed the exam on the first try, which is not always the case, shortly afterwards she was sent to the Vulcan Institute of Defensive Arts, where her mother once studied too, as a sign of recognition on the passed exam which is also the reason why she wasn’t able to attend to the bonding ceremony as a child. The strict discipline there allowed her to pursue her hobbies only the weekend when she was allowed to contact her family at home because of her isolation. At this academy T’Shael got to know the martial arts Ponn-ifla, K’asumi and Kareel-ifla and was also taught modern ways of combat, as well as the use of a phaser, in addition to these classic martial arts where she had to train in a special high gravity training room whereupon the girl developed fast an even more dense bone structure and muscle dense while also training her mind and telepathic skills. After six years of hard training and the associated discipline, she began to train daily in order not only to keep the knowledge she had learned and to let it become flesh and blood, but also to develop her own style from this knowledge. From her 12th birthday she also began to learn the martial arts Sha'mura and Tal-shaya and found in the Vulcan "Nor" not only a great teacher, but also her first friend, although this term may mean something different for Vulcans. In her free time, the teenage girl read books on astrology, advanced mathematics, and astrophysics. When her father, V'La, was promoted to the college's board of examiners and came home for her 15th birthday, he brought her a miniature copy of an old D'Kyr cruiser, along with some textbooks on the species that are current are represented in the Federation of the United Planets and spoke the words: “Child, the first gift should remind you of the importance of the cosmos, which is unimaginably large and which we open up only a small piece of it for us every day and the fact that, in my experience, we seem to know far less about it than we would like and, because of our pride, we rarely admit it to others and the books should remind you of the diversity of the peoples that you will meet in the course of your life. And let me tell you that only very few of them follow the logic. At this point the young T'Shael did not yet know that the miniature spaceship was an award from her father and only years later when she became aware of it should attain, she actually knew what honor she had received on this day of her young life. "And yet the hope for peace rests with us all and I hope that you will understand that every day of our lives we have to dedicate ourselves to the endeavor to maintain and protect this peace." Her father continued and said goodbye after dinner again to return to the academy. It was these words that later drove T'Shael to the stars and wanted to get to know other species, as she could not imagine anything like this up to that point and yet she knew early on that she loved the peace on Vulcan, her home, and would also be ready to stand up for this if necessary. During the next two years of her life, she asked her father frequently for books from the academy and for advice whenever he had time. Her mother supported the young ambition and thirst for wisdom and knowledge and helped her with her entrance exam for the Vulcan Science Academy, where she later specialized in the Colleges of Computer Science, Historical Studies, Physics and Thought. However, she only managed to do this because of her previously learned discipline, as she was distracted from the events in the known galaxy at that time. Because on stardate 46982.1, the Borg invaded Federation space, assimilated or destroyed numerous spaceships and worlds and that the Borg could only be successfully fought back at a high cost. Nevertheless, she was accepted at the academy and began her studies at the age of 17 and took part in the An-Prele. 16 more years passed in which she was able to expand her knowledge of the known sciences in order to build a foundation for her future life and was able to achieve good to very good performance in some areas of the natural sciences, whereby she only finished with a satisfactory result in engineering while getting an academic degree at Astrophysics, Mental Discipline, Psionics and Cryptology. Also she applied to learn the Federation Standard English, German, Romulan and the Klingon language in these time while further educating herself in the martial arts and honing her physical skills alike. T’Shael, who had grown into a young woman at the age of 32, had now reached a turning point in her life and was consulting with her parents about her future. More than six weeks went by in which T’Shael pondered and listened to her parents' advice, and each day she withdrew and meditated about that topic. On the last day of her meditation, she informed her parents that she wanted to join Starfleet because she had heard of an expedition to the Delta Quadrant that would be leaving in some time. Even if both parents ultimately sided with their daughter, T'Shael was only too well aware that they were very worried and that she would missing them all very much, in Vulcan terms of controlled emotion and more of a logical conclusion, because the Delta Quadrant is a long, arduous journey, even for the most modern drives of the Starfleet. T’Shael spent the next two months applying and taking the entrance exams for Starfleet, which at least for the most part recognized her previous achievements on Vulkan and therefore granted her admission and, of course, the swearing-in on Starfleet’s Supreme Directive and Laws. However, she would have to begin her training on the way to the Delta Quadrant and would probably only complete it there. Time passed so quickly that she was only really aware that she will have no contact with her parents and childhood friend for a long time when she was on one of the ships on the way to the Delta Quadrant and would have to rely completely on her own. As a young cadet in her first year, she learned not only the history and the reason and need for this expedition, but also the fundamental differences between the various service departments of Starfleet and also took part in practical exercises, learning the handling of federation standard issued weaponry, armor and personal shields but also common taught martial arts like Kalaripayttu, Jujutsu, Sambo, Krav Maga, Aikido, Judo, Muay Thai and Anbo-jyutsu, which will take years to master even with her prior knowledge in Vulcan martial arts. In the second year she had to learn additionally necessary knowledge of the known secret services of different factions and of course visiting the practical flight school to earn her shuttle pilot license. In addition, she familiarized herself with the regulations in the science laboratories and engineering departments and learned how to use standard federation equipment in those departments. The third year was dominated with Holodeck training sessions to simulate several events aboard a space ship and how they should be solved in the best way, while taking Starfleets regulations into account. The last year on academy included visiting every Branch of Starfleet for an internship to be able to work in those departments in any case of emergency and whenever it would be necessary. Not infrequently, T’Shael admired the division of the Marines and their discipline, even if she had chosen a career in the Intelligence Branch of Starfleet, which of course had not been an easy decision for her. The young woman spent many days thinking about what would suit her best and asked experienced Starfleet personnel wherever she could come across them. But in the end it was Cmdr's Victoria Moonshadow and Captain Hal Jordan’s words which helped her to make the decision. After whole four years at the academy and many classes T’Shael finally graduated from Starfleet Academy as a young Officer of Starfleet with the rank of an Ensign. The next time passed quickly and Cadet T’Shael took part in many other courses at the academy and had the rare luck of taking on her very first job immediately after successfully completing the academy, on which she accompanied the spaceship of the USS Taylorholic Durant on one of her missions and to had conducted the Norn-La-Hal after her return finally which was expected for adult Vulcans between the age of thirty to thirtyfive. | |||||
