| Alexander Johnathon Kennedy was born on May 25, 2266. His father, a Vulcan, was a Starfleet science officer fell in love with a Betazoid woman while serving on Vulcan. The affair was shunned by his mother's family. When Alex was born he was immediately given up for adoption.
Alex was adopted by Robert and Myra Kennedy of Earth. Robert is a family doctor specializing in Human and Vulcan physiology. Myra is a meteorologist. Alex decided to follow in his mother's footsteps at an early age, attending the University of Wisconsin at Madison and getting a degree in Earth Meteorology. But tragedy would change Alex's career choice. In 2409, his wife of 8 years died from a mysterious illness. Alex found himself enthralled with the field of medicine and decided to join Starfleet to pursue a career as a doctor. Alex was born half Betazoid, half Vulcan. But in 2413, he found a way to remove the Betazoid markers from his genes using a method he developed involving the transporter pattern buffers. Alex is married to Nia Kennedy.
